Welder

Valex is looking for an experienced welder to join our team in Ventura, CA. You will perform standard production operations related to the fabrication of production fittings using various welding methods. You will also weld and fabricate fixtures and tooling to support manufacturing and engineering operations, working from blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions. The successful candidate will have 3+ years' experience in tungsten-inert-gas (TIG) welding and rotary welding equipment on a variety of materials, including stainless-steel, titanium, and copper. In addition, MIG, heliarc, and brazing experience is desirable. You must also be able to read and interpret drawings, follow written and verbal instructions in English, lift/carry up to 25 pounds often, and be able to interface with others successfully. You must also be able to demonstrate the ability to tack butt welds, as well as perform full-penetration rotary welds with and without filler rod using a rotary table. This is a full-time, non-exempt, bargaining (union) position and you will be expected to join our union upon hire (there is a nominal initiation fee and monthly dues). There are three levels for the Welder classification and you will be hired into the level that best matches your experience/knowledge.
