Job Description: Superior Building Solutions in Marquette (a DBA of Superior Handyman Corp) is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our growing team in Marquette, MI. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various carpentry techniques and be able to work on a variety of projects, including new construction, remodeling, and repairs in both residential and commercial settings. The Carpenter will be responsible for ensuring high-quality craftsmanship while adhering to safety standards and project timelines. Key Responsibilities: • Perform all aspects of carpentry work, including framing, drywall, trim, window/door installation, and finish work, all to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. • Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and wallboard. • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various carpentry tasks. • Ensure that all safety protocols are followed and that the worksite is safe and organized. • Provide hands-on assistance in the field as needed, especially during critical phases of the project. • Ensure accurate measurements and cuts, and make adjustments as necessary to meet specifications. • Assemble furniture and cabinetry according to specifications. • Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure the work aligns with the overall design and requirements. • Maintain a clean, efficient, and organized job site, ensuring that tools and materials are properly managed. • Communicate effectively with clients and provide updates on project status when needed. Qualifications: • 5+ years of carpentry experience, with a proven track record of completing projects from start to finish. • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and best practices, including framing, trim work, drywall, and finish carpentry. • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. • Ability to plumb structures accurately for proper alignment. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and other project documents. • Familiarity with electrical and/or plumbing work is advantageous but not required. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions. • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
